The restoration of Te Whara is only possible because of the dedication, passion, and hard work of our volunteers. Every station or bait station checked, every weed removed, and every native tree planted helps create a safer and healthier environment for native wildlife to thrive.

Whether you can give a few hours a month or become a regular volunteer, your contribution will make a real difference.

Volunteer opportunities

There are many ways to get involved with the Bream Head Te Whara Conservation Trust, including:

  • Predator control - Help maintain trap and bait station lines.

  • Pest plant control - Assist with the removal of invasive weeds that threaten native ecosystems.

  • Native plant nursery and restoration planting - Support revegetation projects planting and helping grow native trees and plants at our Ocean Beach nursery.

  • Wildlife monitoring - Help monitor native birds and other wildlife, contributing valuable information to conservation efforts.

  • Community Events - Get involved in planting days, volunteer working bees, educational events, and community outreach activities.
